100% correct post, and very observant at that. Others, please take notes!

You ever wonder why some come to this forum and sing the praises of the Mega-crap company they work at? Dave just told you why. This same individual that loves the mega, is the company #### -up, and enjoys a creamy career running the super sweet runs with little to no trip planning, easy appointments, off the highway deliveries, easy backing, and no detention.

You see the turnover at the mega's is already 100+%. The turnover cannot really get much higher without the company closing it's doors. If you handed out the trucking work equally to all drivers, the company screw-ups would increase that turnover greatly by wrecking that truck sooner if given any kind of challenging trucking situation.

The end result is: The company derelict prospers because he has never earned so much money in his life; he has screwed-up every other job he has had before. Inevitably, before the year is up, this derelict screws-up the easiest of trucking situations, and is fired for safety reasons. Thus the 100% turnover continues.

The hard working driver that is never any problem is starved out because all the cream is given to the derelict to keep him from getting fired. The driver that does all the "favors" is now marked as a chump and given nothing but "favors." The driver that can bend over backwards to make a load move is not even recognized, because the assumption in the office is always they are the ones that made the load happen not the driver.

The method I use for trip planning works well. Pick a spot on the map and drive.

Just log out of Qcom and drive, arrive, log back in and act like you know nothing.

You would have to log back in at the same spot you logged out of. Lotta scales in that 1000 mile trip. While a QC practically garantees no ones going to look at the actual logs. Based on the assumption that you wouldn't even be on the road thanks to your company's safety department. But they will want to see the summary page. Not a smart course of action especially going thru Cali scales.

Rather like sticking your head in the sand and hoping no one notices?

Holmes would be proud of your deductive reasoning.

You're destined for greater things if you're a git-er done sort who gets leaned on to clean up other people's messes. Especially if it's relatively early in your career and you're stuck working for some bozo outfit that revels in mediocrity, (or working for anybody at all). That's the ace up your sleeve and the best "revenge"

People around here say it's hard to get fired.

    I disagree.

It's hard to get fired... IF you're a screwup, because those people are EXPECTED to be screwups. For the guys that work though, it's a different story.

Ain't this the #### truth. I used to think that if you worked hard and kept your nose clean that your bosses would overlook your mistakes if you made them. So in a sense you are kind of buying yourself some breathing room. A year or two in the trucking industry changed that view. :p
