Twic Card Question

    Hey guys I have the X endorsement for Hazmat and Tanker so is it true they will take the background check from the hazmat and give me a discount on the twic card or is it the other way around where you get a discount on the hazmat for having the twic background check? If so how much is the twic card with discount?

    They give you a discount because you have the hazmat for $22.75 when applying for the Twic. I believe the cost is around $67.

    Just make sure you ask what the expiration dates would be with both options. Last time I did mine the discounted TWIC came up as expiring about 4 months from the issue date. I had just renewed my Hazmat a few months before that.

    So obviously I payed for the full price card.

    In Virginia, they tie the 2 together. I had my TWIC and when I went to DMV, they did give me a discount on the Hazmat background check. The one thing though, is my Hazmat expires when my TWIC does. I "lost" 1 year of my Hazmat, but its really not a big deal, but I only paid half the cost of the Hazmat check.
