Thank you very much for those details. I did think about taking i59 south to the i20 possibly as i know the i10 distance is much greater due to more winding roads. And i know that much farther south the humidity is increased and i worry about that on my car but i also know i20 and i40 have way more fuel stops than i10 also which is major
Which is cheapest route?

Yea my thoughts exactly. I drove my mom out to georgia in her crown victoria and i never had to be so careful about the route as my car was hauled out on the uhaul a.t. trailer. I did 970 miles in one day and yet my car could not handle it. I did get a tip from my buddy that i may need a new fuel filter and perhaps fuel system cleaning since my car shakes and dies if it runs too long. When traveling to la fayette, ga from michigan, it died when i stopped in ringgold, ga just next to chattanooga and did not start back up until after 3 hours as it needed to cool. Along with it shaking a bit, i changed my spark plugs and this may help.
I do tend to run the heater on low for these drives with window cracked a few inches on 2 windows maybe 3. But have it come out of window defrost vent to help. My precautions. -
I20 and i10 is 9 miles longer than i40. City to city.

You're moving FROM Georgia TO California???

Does your head hurt?
Lepton1, MM71 and Swedish Chef Thank this. -
My original plan was i40 to flagstaff then drop south to i10 into cali to avoid the mountains up north. And keep a little cooler for the trip. I think ill run at night and sleep during day at truck stops to shower in my car too.

Im from California. Lived there almost all my life. I only left because i lost my job, couldn't find work in my degree, kids are still there with mommy, i need to be back. I noticed in michigan the truck industry started changing its rules and made it open for me to come backto trucking after passing the 3 yr mark of any experience. A contractor at fed ex helped me and now im in. So i found a contractor to get back to cali but was hoping i could find fedex ground closer to north san diego county to be next to my kids again. They are very young. 7 yrs, 5yrs, 1.6 yrs.

Wow very good to know. The only positive side is seeing my marine corps buddy and cooler route. I dont care so much to race because every fuel up im stopping at least one hour for my car to cool down a little.
