So a bit about me. I'm a small town girl who has always loved semi trucks, tow trucks and anything 10times my size with a great motor. Im on track to buying three tractors as we speak. Two with the trailers. All with sleepers. Ive done my interviews and im waiting to hear back about their drug and alcohol testing. Ill be flying out to New York to speak to a few investors and companies in regards to contracting. Is there anything im missing? Any tips on how to snag great dedicated routes? My mentor unfortunately passed before we could see it through together so im running with what he has already taught me. My original plan was to get a few good routes to pay my way through college and bills while I study and pass it down to family while I live out my "Dream" of being a Financial Analyst but now I want this to be my forever and a day. Anything you provide; Questions or comments will be greatly appreciated. Oh and let me not forget; yes I have enough money to pay out my guys for a few months incase I get hooked with a slow pay company and have fall back funds as well.

Wow, going from zero to three trucks right from the start. I'd slow down a little so that dream won't turn into a nightmare.

no investor is going to put a dime in 3 trucks. 3 trucks won't even support 1 person.

For you're first assignment, you can work up a 13 week cash flow projection for 1 truck and report back.

Then you can follow up with the results of the drug and alcohol testing you did for 3 drivers, for 3 trucks you don't own to run routes you don't have with investor money of people you haven't met yet.

It's so sad that your mentor passed before he was able to teach you anything you seem so passionate about. Perhaps you should follow your "Dream" with the money you have saved up to pay the guys with in case a horrible company strings you out for a little while instead of wasting it.

Or you could just troll some where else?

I would take it slow & steady. I believe you can achieve your dream we just have to keep dreaming even when the nightmare come & they will. Isn't it amazing other people shoot you down for having a dream to be successful in trucking when it is been done everyday. I would be patient with going after 3 trucks right off the turn. The equipment is easy to get brand new trucks & trailers lol (if your money is like that) You could find a good customers.( year round freight good rates) that is a challenge. The really issue is drivers. The key is paying well that brings the better drivers to the front that figure is around $1200-1300 week. How much is involved in making it. All this has to be in place. You can be successful it's all in the planning & being able to whether difficult days. Do do your homework and be prepared to be successful in whatever you set your mind to. It is ok that your in "kindergarten" of trucking but you know if keep progressing you can get to high school just don't quit & listen to your teachers (fellow successful business owners) I hope the best for you. Your comment is greatly appreciated. I've been trying planning and saving but every time I ask someone for guidance they give me the "Not your cup of tea princess" speech and I'm pretty much forced to go to Google and rework my stepfathers last few speeches. Yes I may be far reaching with the three; I'll definitely rethink this aspect and get back to the drawing board. I'll study and do my research. This post definitely has to be the best decision of my life... Besides the time I put peppered turkey and sharp cheddar in my grilled cheese sandwich lol Have a great day Mr. Ibcalm19 and I wish you all the prosperity in the world as will as you Mr. Chinatown
