At that point my only previous experience driving a semi was the test I had with Bill the day before and during driving school 20 years prior.tlopez99 Thanks this. -
I was going to ask her who that was but thought better of it. -
Second trainer was much more helpful, but I still took the initiative to practice backing when we were waiting for a load at a customer.
You may have to do the same. If you find yourself in an empty truck stop or quiet customer lot with some time.
Let the trainer know you want to practice backing. He shouldn't really object as its not his fuel and tires you will be using. -
You will get better but I would agree about a "backing camp"... Teaching "concepts" of backing before real world practice hits.
