If it was a benefit to the driver they'd never offer it to a driver.

If it's such a good deal why do they force it on you to start.

    Thull and drvrtech77 Thank this.

All that per diem Dodge is lower the company's tax liability that's it that's why the companies push it so hard they tried to make it look like it's also good for you but it also screws you when you go to apply for financing they look at your income and it's next to nothing because of the per diem...

So what I remember from when I was there... Been about 18 months now, but can't imagine it's gotten any better.

Tank Wash $20 - but only paid if you actually wait for the tank to be washed and hook the same tank again. This almost NEVER happens

    Loading $15
    Unloading $15
Detention $10 per hour after ??? 2 hours I think

That's pretty much it. Do your six months and then put in apps at every tanker fleet out there. You keep a clean record with no CSA points and people will start to look at you at 9-18 months.

    Good Luck!

Don't forget about layover after 24 hours, and unlike other companies who pay in 12 hour increments (after 24 hours), SNI only pays in 24 hour increments. So when they leave you sit in Houston for a weekend and give you a dispatch that requires you to move the truck after 46 hours, you only get a single 24 hours of layover.

Another trick they use is to have you make a trailer move which interrupts layover and pays less.

I'm glad you brought that point up. You're income doesn't decrease, in fact it will go up by $.02/mi. What happens is you are paying taxes on 100% of earnings without adjusting your witholdings. When you don't adjust your witholdings you end up paying $400 on a $1200 weekly gross, which is way too much.
