I'm looking for options on what type of clutch I need for my W900A. The clutch I have now is fine, but it is so grabby it drives me crazy on hills taking off. Plus if someone else gets in the truck it throws them for a loop. My previous truck wasn't like this at all and I'm hoping you all can tell me what type/brand/etc I should look at. The truck has a big cam Cummins running around 425 hp and nowhere near the torque of a newer 425 hp motor, and a RTLO 13 speed so I don't need anything crazy. Thanks for any help.

Have you checked the linkage for play?
Had a Freightliner with a worn out bushing,it would get to a certain point, then move 1/2" on its own.

I haven't, really didn't even think about it I just assumed it was in the clutch. I'll for sure check that out before I start buying parts. This clutch is absolutely like an on or off switch. After over a year of driving it I'm still struggling getting used to it.

    It's probley got a ceramic clutch .
There terrible to drive. No slip at all .
Had a 2000 kw came that way from new.
Replaced it after one week of driving it with a genuine eaton easy pedal. That was 13 years ago and it's still going strong

    TGUNKEL Thanks this.

clutch in my Mack is like that as well. i don't like it, i also think my throwout rod bushings are shot too, i am actually thinking that is a big part of it. when i got the truck it didn't have grease zerks in them and didn't look like they had for a long time. is slightly better with grease zerks and frequent greasing. but pedal is not smooth at all and the clutch is like a on off switch.

ill probably put a easy pedal in it at some point.

Depending on how old the clutch is it could have non dampened disc, these lack the springs in the disc that allow them to flex on engagement.

Are you sure what size clutch the truck has in it?

All my new Eaton clutches have been ceramic, they only still offer the organic material for the really low torque apps.

Thanks for the help guys. I don't know what size it is, but the previous owner did tell me he had replaced it a few years ago. I hate to replace a low mile newer clutch but I don't know what he was thinking when he had this clutch put in.
Does anyone know roughly what an easy pedal costs?
