The cost to lease is $5,000 per month, inclusive; all service, repairs etc., and if you register within the first 25,000 that includes fuel. Originally fuel was limited to 5,000 however, demand was so great they expanded. Tires come on the truck but the replacement cost will be the responsibility of the owner.
I would venture a guess that fuel/road taxes would have to be born by the owner, but even at that, just the cost of fuel would be a huge advantage, considering how much a month is expended in fuel alone.
There is still a lot to work out, this is a huge advancement in technology, and is going to meet a lot of skepticism.
My wife's dad bless his soul was as old school as it got, from one line mule teams, plowing fields with steam driven tractors in the valley, hauling fuel out of LA into the desert, and over the "Grapevine" on steel wheels covered with hard rubber. The most modern truck he ever drove was a '36 Dodge Truck and Trailer. Flats loaded to the hilt; wife tells me of going up Old Pacheco Hill outside of Gilroy, CA in the lowest gear where she swore you could walk faster than the truck went.
My point, even he complained about "New fangled gizmos" - his words -, until he actually went for a ride in my then new '75 KW COE, and realized just how far advance things had become.

I worked with a 75 year old Italian. Love the guy. Think of him as my grandfather. He would always make fun of people for using cellphones all the time... Until I showed hyou can see naked women on one. He never said a bad word about them again and would always ask to see some new girls every day.
