hey there everybody i was wondering if anybody knows of any trucking/driving jobs that require no cdl? I tried a 3 week trucking class and me being a slow learner it was not meant for me and also being under 21 did not help either. But if anybody knows any type of driving position without a cdl that would be awsome! I also live in michigan if that helps for the question. Thanks for reading and have a great day!

Try the "indeed" website. Sometimes those jobs are posted.
Some courier services don't require a cdl, but may or may not require a DOT Medical Card.

Corrigan Moving System might take you on as a driver helper. It's a Michigan based household goods mover.
Google : household goods movers +(your town) for more names.

Google : cdl practice tests Michigan

In the mean time, study the cdl practice tests on here and also YouTube videos on pre-trip inspections. This way you'll be ready to go after you're 21.

Try local furniture companies, or the major newspaper in your area may have openings.
Sometimes beverage haulers need jumpers to assist the driver in unloading product.
Your age will be a determining factor for now. Being under 21. Most insurance companies require drivers to be over 23.

Before I got my cdl I drove a box truck delivering household appliances, I delivered pizzas, and I drove a tow truck.

None of those paid well, but they fit.

This may vary by state, but best you could hope for is driving a straight truck (box truck), 2 axles only, no more than 6 tires, and drive "not-for-hire" trucks. This would be something like Goodwill, Salvation Army, Kidney Foundation, etc. You might also get on with U-Haul, Budget, etc., moving excess truck inventories from an overstocked destination to dealers that need more trucks to rent.

Tow trucks are usually just shy of Class B. Some small bus carriers that help the elderly or the poor are using non cdl type licenses. Some dirt contractors will hire a local to drive a company fuel truck that has less than 50 gallons in the back end to refuel the equipment.

There is very little non CDL. Precious little.

At risk of exposing my obselete knowledge if your truck does not have this..."NOT-for-Hire" on the side of the cab you need a CDL. If your truck is heavier than 26,000 and your owner is being paid commerically to haul for someone else you need a CDL. Even small cars need a CDL if they are marked specifically as a commercial vehicle (Related to oversized escorts etc)

Maybe you can follow a Combine filling your grain hopper on a farm or something but not put a wheel on a public road.

Different states may have different requirements at the local level, however, you are wrong at the federal level. As far as federal is concerned the requirements for cdl are over 26000, towing over 10000, carrying (16?) passengers, or carrying placardable quantities of hazmat.

Limo drivers, taxi drivers, pilot cars, hot shot drivers(within the weight limits) box truck drivers, tow truck drivers, etc, none of them need that cdl until you break that passenger limit or weight rating limit. However, if involved in interstate commerce some of those may require a medical card.

I did not address hazmat due to a tight requirement for it. You are right about passengers, I did not address that. And Interstate commerce is still tier one needing a CDL in addition to a medical card.
