You can get a new 389 Pete glider at Fitzgerald for 140,000 so that's well over 100,000 cheaper no emissions to deal with and top of the line truck not a freightliner or want to be a peterbilt 579

Very similar if not the same as the Prime lease numbers. Given, they are basically the same company that is not surprising.

This is the dumbest post I have read in a long time. The 'right way' is different for different drivers who have different financial situations. For some drivers financing a truck through normal financing is out of the question so lease purchase gives them another route. Yes, it will end up costing more to own the truck and yes some leases are scams, BUT NOT ALL!
Calling someone a total ####### on this forum because their career decisions are different than yours is childish and ignorant.

If you have 50% down use it to buy a decent used truck and lease out to someone and used trailers are fairly cheap too.Be careful of what kinda tractor you are buying because some companies aren't taking gliders on.

Prime has an excellent school and driver lease program that you could learn from stay out a year and learn and do your training with a l/o or a o/o.

Im actually narrowed my choice to Jim Palmer Trucking as I had a great conversation with Darrel Wilson, the CEO. They seem to be my kind of people. I am winding up my overseas service (Iraq,Afghanistan,Pakistan,Qatar,UAE,and here in Iraq again) and will be home soon . As far as the used trucks , I did check Arrow and there are great deals on 2012+ Volvos and such. I am just not going to commit until I gain the exp and knowledge.

Sounds like you have a good plan just continue to do your research and you'll be ok. Lots of people on here that can help you and they'll chime in soon enough. Good luck and thank you for your service.
