Don't know how many guys I've helped over the years back out of the spot they pulled nose first. Like they never considered the possibility of the truck stop filling up

Only time I nose in is if I'm gonna be in and out, and the truck stops empty. Not gonna spend the time backing in if I'm just running in to get a drink or smokes. If I'm gonna get some food, or taking my 30, always back in....

Where is the Sun ? ~
    Its 100 degrees plus outside.
    Its 4 pm .
Do you want the sun beating thru the windshield for 4 hours or , do you want the sun being blocked out by the trailer which helps keep the cab cooler and darker ?
Asked the driver that runs Az , N. Mex , Ca. and other western states where generally speaking the lots are bigger so backing out isnt that great of an ordeal.

    1) If I arrive late, even though I am legal, it usually safer to pull in. If I have to back out, I am fresh, and it is less of a problem than backing in. 2) I park at TA/Petro, so if I pull in, I am behind someone who should be leaving earlier than I will be leaving. 3) in mild weather, I don't want to hear the guy idling next to me when I'm not.

Now this is just my opinion and it just happens to coincide with others too.

    If I drive 66 in a 65

If I fuel at 9am instead of noon

If I circle the block before pulling in to the customer

    If I run 80 instead of 40

If I want a KW instead of a Volvo

If I pull in instead of back in,

What does it matter at the end of the day to you?

We are all our own person and as long as we do things safely and don't hold others up by being inconsiderate, then not a thing I do should matter to you.
If it bothers anyone that much, jump in the drivers seat and run my truck. I'll gladly sit in the passenger seat and take a nap.

Pee smell isn't as strong if pulled into a back in hole, pee dumps don't go far from the cab, lazy driver I guess.

Usually it's very tired drivers who just don't want to deal with a tough backing scenario.

My rule of thumb is NEVER nose in unless your arse-end is looking out onto a large place where no one will ever be behind you.

An extra even 10 minutes backing in can save you 45 trying to blind-side back, in the dark, in a tight situation. (Ask me how I know:p) Nose-in, even is specifically marked "nose-in-only" places can be a pain in the butt to get out of. And some places, it's just BEGGING to have an accident trying back out.

The only time I've ever parked nose in is if I'm really tired. Other than that I avoid truck stops unless stopping for a shower or fuel. The Rest Areas are more peaceful.
