It's gonna go through eventually. I cannot guess how long.

Im really tough on the shop with this. Any flaw in either disc, drum, brake hardware or pads got fixed or replaced. Or I found a TA and told mechanic to put new pads on then argued on the phone for a comcheck to pay the #### things from a now very volcanic and angry company shop boss.... Ive pulled #### like this before. I don't recommend it.

Did i read this right? Shop pulled drum off and didnt replace slightly cracked shoe? Cracks like leaks dont ever get better. Ive done my own brakes for years. 2 shoes and hardware kit at napa is $50. Please document that shop wont fix it. That they told you its safe. If you have an accident it may be your only out.

When you get to the terminal just chisel a good chunk out during your post trip. How did the dot give you a warning and not attach something as to "get this fixed within 15 days"?

I record most conversations I have with shop and dispatch. I recorded when they failed to fix it in phx and here also. What sort of chisel should I use? I'm BT right now so I could pick one up and a 4LB hammer. I can wedge a knife blade into the crack now.

The minor dot violation was for the trailer which got fixed. They even took the 5 sticker on my winshield and gave me a 6. I don't have a scanner and printer if I did I would just photoshop a violation for the truck up.

I seriously worry when people talk about sabotage. Im not without sin myself and god knows I live in a glass house.

I say this. Start looking for a new company to run for. Your shop has to be incredibly densely BAD to cause you to think about dark actions like that....

Best of luck to you and your situation. I have been in this battle before myself. But your issue is clear as day to the DOT because it is at the top of the out of service criteria. Crack = Broken = Out of Service for most DOT. Kind of stupid situation for a cheap part.

I have a question...just got into a 2012 peterbilt that has been sitting for three months. I noticed the drive axle brakes were rusty and dirty. Nothing else. I brushed them off and took a hammer lightly to them for fear of locking up. Haven't had a problem with them but should I have any other concerns? Any advise wud be great. Thanks

The problems to a truck sitting for months into years become very expensive. You do not jump in and crank it. Batteries need swapping for new, oil need changing, fluids need replacing, greasing all around and pulling all parts that have gone bad including rusted stuff. It might be thousands of dollars just to get it restored to where you can move it. Tires dry rot too. That's like 4000 for 10 new ones. Then there is nature animals, rusting wires harness etc etc etc. Even the brake chambers, they would need rebuilding with fresh rubber diaphragms too. It's a nightmare.
