I've never strapped any of my appliances down. I don't know how, but they just stayed put.
Nope that's a lie, I did kinda' strap them down. But I did it a very slick and cool way.

I had the same mini-fridge. Then I put a nice table-top on the fridge to increase surface space, it was like having a large kitchen counter-top. On top of that was my microwave, and then on top of that was my pressure cooker. The pressure cooker was cleverly strapped to the passenger seat belt pulley, which in turn held the microwave and refrigerator tight into their place.

I did use a load strap to hang my TV from my truck ceiling though

I'm going to take the passenger OEM cabinet out and build a custom cabinet over Christmas. I've even drawn up a plan to put in a hood with the exhaust going out the top vent window.

Has anyone used one of those "alcohol burner" kits for cooking? I saw a nice kit the other day, can't think of the name right now, and I thought it might be interesting to use.

I know there are other options out there but this kit kind of tripped the old camper within me.

 

Those small fridges out of wall mart work a treat plus most fridges that come in the new cascadia are to small and the Volvo fridge in the small can suck .

 

Where does one put a stand alone fridge??? I can't imagine stepping around it in the middle of the cab. Are you removing the passenger seat and placing it there? Just trying to get a mental image. Thanks.

 

My stack is in front of the passenger cabinet. Unless you are a 300 lb slob, it's not really in the way.

I used to use those $100 electric coolers but the best thing to do is to save up your money and buy a DOMETIC cooler fridge (price $350-$550 depending on the size). This is the same company that makes the fridge in the trucks. This is actual a working DC/AC powered fridge in the form of a cooler. Iowa 80 the largest truck stop in the world sells them. The fridge cooler has a large compartment and a smaller compartment. Temperatures can be set to go down to 0 degrees but I keep mine at 16F. I keep my frozen food in there and keep my drinks and no frozen items in the smaller section. Even if the truck temp goes up to 100 degrees the temp will only go up maybe like 5-7 degrees in the cooler.
