What dont you understand. A part failed that steers the trailer. Stopped then the trailer pivots and off roll the pipe tearing all 4 Nelson/flatbed straps like they were paper. Here's what the trailer looks like.

How in the world would I get that from 3 pipes laying on the ground? How do I know what happened from that picture? It just looks like three pipes laying next to each other. Maybe I have to be a flatbedders to see the missing info? Nev.jpg

Didn't mean to jump down your throat. The fire hydrant was almost broken off and you can see the trailers front bunk and reach. Its not a flat its a self steering pipe trailer.

They fired you for a mechanical failure like that? That's BS! Sounds like the company tried to save face for their #### equipment by firing you instead.

10 4, the angle and everything else about the picture showed me nothing to the extent of my knowledge that that load was on a trailer.
That and the pipes appear to be longer than the tractor. It's very deceiving to me. A better picture angle of the incident and this wouldn't have been necessary.

That's not your fault of course, and you helped me figure out what I was looking at.

    Thank you

We have a place we go regularly, they get 3 drops a week, and you have to back into a spot next to a building wall tucked in behind some obstruction in front of the 2 walk in doors and outside dock.

It isn't bad except for vehicles and material left where you have to maneuver. There was a similar setup at a place in Jersey, it was simple if you had practiced the maneuver before, but darned near impossible for a Prime truck which had some damage on the passenger side from prior altercations, and a very long large car which just didn't have the space needed.

Its all about the money not the employees. Its a pipeline job. I know what happened so water under the bridge. Like I told the boss "if that's the worst thing that happens to me trucking I'll be fine." Rehired next week driving a flatbed on the same job. Go figure.

If you're looking in your mirrors this diagram applies[IMG]

But I rarely use my mirrors I hang my head out the window and Look Backwards and turn the wheel to the left to make my trailer go left and turn the wheel to the right to make the trailer go right.

That's how i will be when i start. All these terms "offsset" "alley" "45" how about we just call it "backing up".
