Im out of Dallas and have had a few issues getting home on schedule. I'm also fairly new so my DBL is still getting to know me and vice versa. Maybe I should be more assertive, but I do believe she is trying and some things are not really her fault. I also appreciate the fact that when I'm out she runs me hard. Only time I've ever made good money like this was when I was deployed getting combat pay. One thing I would suggest is to not make his appointments for his first day back, that way if he is a little late it don't blow the appointment time.

I don't want to start making assumptions or bashing anyone or placing blame but you are correct.
I do believe there has to be more to the story here.
Somethings not right.
This is trucking, you have to be assertive. Not ignorant or rude, but respectful yet assertive.
Demand things respectfully that better you, your pay and your company.
Don't forget, if you don't care about the company you work for, then why work for them? Without them, you have no job.
If you dislike a company so immensely, then find another as you're only doing disservice to both you as well as the company.

Has this reverse situation ever occurred?
A driver does NOT request home time, and that the company has to make the driver come home for a break, after being out on the road for a long amount of time? -
Only if they're working hourly I think. Lol

Yes. Absolutely, when seasonal freight drops off after the Christmas seasonal surge they will try to get as many drivers as they can off the books. If they can't fire them for safety or performance reasons they will rout them to the home terminals so they don't have to pay layover when they sit them out.
I have been called several times by planners and dispatchers telling me that I need to go home. And, I know I am not the only one.MidwestResident Thanks this. -
My experience with Schneider was varied. Every time I wanted to be home with nothing particular to do they got me home on time (either a day early, same day or w day late)
On the other hand, pretty much every time I needed to be somewhere for specific plans they screwed it up. One time in particular I requested time off at Fontana CA for a family party, DBL forgot about it so the "best" they could do was dump me off in Reno NV at the Petro (drop yard) and I had to rent a car and drive the 8 hours to Palm Springs from there.
They also violated my voting rights in 2012 by not getting me home in time to vote when I told them weeks in advance that I "needed" to vote lol. I even gave them a 5 day window to get me home and they still screwed that up. -
Ohh boy. There are too many entitlement folks driving truck today.wstar2003 and drvrtech77 Thank this.

I talked to a local tow truck driver a few years ago. Before that job, he worked for Jim Palmer. He was young, single, no dependents, no need to be home. So he stayed out 3-4 months at a time.
He said there were several times his dispatcher made him go home for 4-5 days. Not company policy or anything, the dispatcher just thought he needed a break. -
Where do you read that? Drivers aren't entitled to be home, when they request it, and give the company plenty of time to make it happen?
