I was recently fired from Sunoco Logistics (crude oil hauler) for safety violation. I got wrote up for not putting cones out. What companies hire drivers with safety violations? I've only had CDL for 2 years, and work experience is with Key Energy and Sunoco. Thanks.

You should be fine. Don't let others intimidate you. There's always a company willing to hire if they like the first impression and you say all the right things
CrappieJunkie, Memccann13 and G13Tomcat Thank this. -
Keep in mind that some of the larger companies want OTR experience somewhere in your background. Do you have any? Were you pulling full combo tanks? We could probably help with more info, including your location, O/P.
Maybe then, @Chinatown can bounce you some suggestions.
Good luck, Be safe.Memccann13 Thanks this. -
I don't have OTR experience, and I hauled full combo tanks. I'm relocating to Longview tx area. I've contacted some big companies and they don't hire safety violators or they have a wait time. I have no accidents, no tickets for over the last 3 years. I need a company that will give me a chance to get OTR experience and that doesn't mind a safety violation
G13Tomcat Thanks this. -
Oh my god you didn't put cones out, shame on you.
You'll never work again.
Seriously though, as a fleet owner, I would not ever consider this as part of the app process, may ask you what happened but overall it is not a show stopper for a job.Toomanybikes, okiedokie, Lepton1 and 4 others Thank this. -
^^^ I'm not an O/O, but I agree. Yes, it was a mis-step, but not a show-stopper. As long as nobody rear-ended you as a result of lacking cones, I don't see it as the huge deal they are making it out to be. Did they DAC you on it?
Memccann13 Thanks this. -
No, nothing happened except me getting wrote up over it. What is DAC? I'm fairly new to driving
-
The DAC report provides information on the period of service, equipment operated, loads hauled, driver status and experience, reason for leaving, rehire eligibility, number of accidents with accident detail, drug and alcohol histories including pre-employment test results, and truck driving school performance records.
More here:

I'm not sure if they did or not. I just requested a copy of my DAC. That you for the help G13Tomcat. Do you happen to know any companies that hire with safety violations?
-
You're welcome, man. And I do here, in Ohio....but that won't help you in Texas. Try this website:

but until you really see what's on your DAC, I would just start applying like crazy, especially in Tanker, since that's where you have experience. Like Ridgleline said, it may not be as serious as you are fearing.
