That's the first time I've heard W86 refer to anything other than a nuclear warhead.
The Elefant was disabled by an M61 round from a Sherman (most likely, it could have been a different vehicle. The pieces of shrapnel they pulled out of the sprocket were pretty distinctive.
It wasn't an engineer track that pulled it out. It was an M88, a recovery vehicle normally crewed by mechanics. (the smartest people in the army)
The Ordnance Museum was moved to Ft Lee Virginia in 2010, Ft Belvoir is going to be home of the National Museum of the US Army.
