Look at your pushrod with the brakes applied and released and figure that out yourself
-
I wouldn't.. But I guess some people would for some reason............... -
Not quite following your here. With no air to the trailer the pushrods on the trailer are the same whether tractor brakes are applied or not applied.
Sounds like the OP either feels more comfortable with the trailer holding the truck or finds it more convenient than using chocks. -
The vast majority of our trailers have travel indicators on them.
The problem is to get a driver to bend over enough to check to see how much travel there is. -
All set to dynamite the brakes...
MartinFromBC, j_martell, Pullin2 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Set the trailer brakes (tractor brakes released) to check the tractor. Set the tractor brakes (trailer brakes released) to check the trailer. Or, chock the wheels (all brakes released) and check everything. You don't "dynamite" anything.
-
Define 'dynamite'. When someone says dynamite the trailer I pull the red knob. Some would call that setting the trailer brakes.
orcen Thanks this. -
He was saying he will dynamite the trailer, then apply 90psi to check his truck stroke, so technically hes still applying 90 psi to his trailer when its dynamited.. unless im missing something

Same, maybe they're teaching these kids something new these days............................................
