Supposed to be dispatched out tomorrow afternoon after the defensive driving class, don't know how luck I'll be getting out of Dallas in the afternoon but we'll see. Gonna go run and get groceries and office supplies before I go so that I don't have to stop under a load.
Ready to go!

They figured out how the wreck happened
Four people are injured after a five-vehicle crash ended with a semitractor-trailer jack-knifed and a Mears bus embedded into it, officials said.
About noon Tuesday, a northbound Mears bus without passengers and an Audi collided at the intersection of John Young and Central Florida parkways, Florida Highway Patrol spokeswoman Kim Montes said.
This caused the bus to veer into the side of the truck's trailer stopped at a stoplight in a westbound lane of Central Florida Parkway. A Dodge Durango then struck the truck, and a Chevy van was also hit "by one of the vehicles," Montes said.

Assigned to a mid-roof blue Cascadia with 325k miles on it. Runs pretty well so far, no complaints. Getting used to the opti-idle is another issue though, scared the bejeezus out of me the first night every time it cranked up. Hard to keep the idle time down when I've been in the south every day since I've been assigned the truck and every afternoon has been 100+ degrees!
Got a load from Cleburne, TX to Milledgeville, GA. 1k miles over 3 days, decided to do it in 2 and take today off. Sitting at the pilot in Madison, GA - 1 hr to delivery tomorrow and I'll have a full 34 reset in. Yay.
Had 575 miles to drive yesterday from West Monroe, thought it was going to be a breeze but ran into that construction crap going on 20E just outside of Atlanta. Everyone in such a big rush that the 4 lanes became 6 with people passing on both shoulders, then the left two closed so that was 4 lanes of cars trying to merge into the 2 open lanes. That alone was a one hour delay, wound up in Madison with 0:20 left on my 11 hr. clock!
Being lazy and watching the Rangers/Astros this afternoon - found my old 300w inverter that plugs into the cig lighter, have that powering the laptop. My Samsung G7 phone's mobile hot spot is powering the wifi. Fun day off!Last edited: Aug 7, 2016

Just talked to another Crete driver that takes personal time off every winter for 60 to 90 days. This is in addition to the two that married women from the South Pacific and go over there to visit their wives families for 2 or 3 months. Seriously with drivers aging it may be something Crete uses to recruit older experienced drivers.

I don't check my idle time, I keep the truck comfortable for me.
I don't know the idle limits or even if they have any.
If they send a message about your idle time, ignore it, they'll get the hint.majestyk Thanks this. -
Yeah I'm not worried about it - I have my opti idle set at 70, so when it shuts off it takes a whopping 5 minutes for the temp to climb to the high 70's. It'd be 100 in here in no time so I'm not sweating it. Especially when I get a 1k/3 day trip. I'm going to be comfy on a 34 hr reset.
