I started driving in 2000 and I never heard of a GPS, we used maps back in the day. Get yourself a good map and save $ towards a good GPS, I like the Rand McNally TND personally. CB is good to have but nowadays most don't use it anyway, you can wait a few weeks to get one. You can live without a cooler for a few weeks also. Wal-Mart sells the same coolers at a cheaper price, buy your cooler there. If nothing else, buy yourself a styrofoam cooler for your lunch meat, etc. and stock it with ice, lots of places have ice. Carry survival clothes with you in winter time, never know when you have to have them. Like long underwear, coveralls, etc. Its still hot so you have lot of time to buy all of that if you don't have it. I pull reefer so we don't use brooms or leaf blowers, just simply get it washed out. I carry a hammer, vice grips, small cheap screwdriver set, small cheap wrench/socket set, 5th wheel puller and work gloves. Don't be afraid to start with what you have. God bless.

Next time you roll through Phoenix, stop by my house-I get these pesky leaves that build up in a corner of my block wall!

Don't Rush out and buy everything right away. I think you'll find picking things up along the way as you need or want is what will happen.

Right, I agree. I should've been clearer. Plenty of places to gather supplies other than the truck stops. I did get my GPS at Love's, but saved up points for it.

    rachi Thanks this.
