You're all wet. Get involved in a major accident and they will go over everything with a fine tooth comb. Not having macro point is not going to make your trail invisible.

As @Pedigreed Bulldog stated, MP tracks drivers. And that is something I will not do, regardless of my role as a service provider.Pedigreed Bulldog and Big_D409 Thank this. -
50 bucks a piece, times how many loads per day? That can add up to a very big chunk real fast.
-
Well its good lots of people out there are unwilling to use macro point. That's what I like to see. Just another one of those things others are unwilling to do but I am. I'm also done arguing about it.
RedForeman, m16ty, pigeon river trucking and 1 other person Thank this. -
@rollin coal
I get it. And I Like you.
Don't get any bright ideas thinking the borkers are going to "turn down" Trucks because of Macropoint...
The Risks of turning down Good carriers in desired locations for a borker will over-ride any tracking device some Whiz kid decided to start using.
Will it happen? Im sure it will, Especially Newer entrants and unprofessional carriers with absolutely No Telephone etiquette.........
I'll Bet 100 hamburgers to Arizona Dave's Corn Dogs that I'd NEVER get turned down for Freight....Especially by a broker, Because I Chose no driver tracking.
Yes, I'm Really that Good!!Derailed, rollin coal, Singh115 and 1 other person Thank this. -
the vast majority of those little fines and fees and warnings is so when some ####### takes the load, shows up late for pickup, makes everyone mad, leaves, shows up a day late at the other end, walks in demanding to be unloaded on the spot, then gets thrown off the premesis, the broker can leverage all sorts of fees on the idiot.
any decent carrier can by and large pay those no mind. any decent shipper or broker isn't about to shove off a good carrier for a fee collection. -
yah, like foghat and RC,i have no problems in this area either. i'll use the tracker if they want. but i have yet to find one that actually utilises the tracker on their end. i'll send the stupid updates, they call anyways cause they don't look at the updates either.
-
SO...If I go to the settings (i use iPhone) and disable location services, they lose the ability to track until I turn it back on,right?
-
Don't think so...not a "location services" sort of deal, because they track you through your cell provider. Even an old "dumb phone" without all of the GPS stuff can be tracked.
-
No, it also uses cell tower pings to determine location. It won't be as accurate, but they can still track you.
I just have a real problem with brokers that spring it on you after negotiations have concluded. It is an extra service, it does drain your battery, it does compromise your saftey (however minutely) -- it shouldn't be a concession just given away.Singh115 and scottied67 Thank this.
