Maybe they should have spent a little extra and got the black sealant.

I have seen "fixit" the OP presented a million times on cars and not a single one of them worked. Usually the new silicone just funnels more water to the leak. When I worked in a shop people would bring that crap in all the time insisting that I just had to add more sealant to their abortion of silicone mess they already made. They just were looking for some fool to take responsibility for their own mess. I never took the bait, but I had mechanics that did.

You see why I am not a fan of the Crapcadia. To have to do that to a new truck is ridiculous. The fact that Freightliner see's that as a cure is even more funny.

hey that sort of clear silicone is not cheap . With labor they probably spent 7 dollars . You are lucky they consider you to be such a valued driver

That's a common problem with the Kenworth T680s. KW tried a replacement gaskets which turned out to be equally faulty, so caulk became the solution in a snap. You gotta realize that a shop can only do so much with ####ed up engineering, although we used clear caulk on ours, and I would've expected any shop to be mindful of how the end result of that will look.

The freightshaker repair is as good as the truck. What more do you need.
