Just invest 50k with my forex traded. If the trucking goes wrong I will be alright with the investing.

They have both told me they will give me straight rates for the first year to get me running. They are good people I can rely on.

I decide on a 2017 KW T680 Cummins 13 speed. I want the W900L but I think fuel is going to be way better starting out with the T680. Also going to get the 53 foot stepdeck with ramps.

Good luck. Anyone could promise me the world or the right numbers for the lotto, and I still wouldn't depend on it. Go through the experience and let us know with the progress. What equipment/ freight you going to be hauling?

I am probably going with a 2017 T680 13 speed Cummins. Going to run a stepdeck. I am contemplating get a W900L but I know the fuel mileage is going to be worse.

    Grijon Thanks this.

If you were pulling a box or a reefer an aero truck makes sense to save fuel. With an open deck not so much so. I would have a flat top pulling a flat or step and would not give one seconds thought to the aerodynamics of it because it doesn't matter.

Are you going to be wrenching on it? Then you will appreciate the ease of access the older style trucks have if you do. It costs extra labor to have routine maintenance like an overhead adjustment done on an aero versus a hood.

With a hood you just raise the hood and pull the valve covers. With an aero you raise the hood and have another 30 minutes to hour extra time removing air piping and filtration out of the way before you can even think of pulling the valve covers. Little things like that add time and cost.

That, and if he is interested in fuel economy, he is going to want automatics, especially if he isn't driving the truck.
