of course dispatch will make it out to be your fault.Let us know what happens if you would. You were very smart for not giving out your SSN makes me wonder why they would ask such a question.I don't see what that has to do with picking up load.If dispatch gives you a hard time ask them if they would give out their social.
Got kicked off the property this morning...

Never in a million years would I give my SS.
I delivered concrete inside the " sensitive " area at Palo Verde Nuclear Plant. Two guys with 16's watch every rock come off that truck at that level. They do an instant background check & search the truck when you enter the premises with three armed guards, and your license goes in a metal box like a safe.
They don't ask for a SS number.
F that shipper / receiver, F that company as well if they want you to comply with that rule.dancecanyon, Toomanybikes, DustyRoad and 3 others Thank this. -
Lol. Won't work for me. Dad can't give out his SSN (to random people) without the Feds hearing about it per FAA requirements.Lepton1 Thanks this.

Nah, the office people are pretty cool at my company. Perk of being small business I guess.
Office talked to the shipper and found out the security guy doesn't actually work for them, he works for some other company and guards the shippers grounds on 1099 basis.
Shipper told us that SSN is not necessary and they will investigate to find out WTF is going on.
I'm going to try to re-pickup the load tomorrow morning.
The customer wasn't happy to learn the load wasn't picked up this morning, but after explaining the situation said I'd still be able to delivery tomorrow after I pick up the freight.
This happens to be a truckload (like most - only do 30% of runs that are LTL).Bean Jr., Lepton1, Dave_in_AZ and 2 others Thank this. -
Inventory for an office supply company. All dry of course.BoostedTeg Thanks this.

Think I will start signing as Ms. Ashley Jones. That should make them look at me funny.Lepton1 and texasbbqbest Thank this.

That's just dumb, really. There is absolutely no reason for them to need that information. If you show up in a company truck with the trailer number they were informed would arrive and have a PU number, you are the one who is supposed to be there. I honestly don't care about the drivers license thing, but the SSN is an absolute no-no. I don't get why they need that stuff.Lepton1, texasbbqbest and pattyj Thank this.
