There has been a big overhaul in the training/trainer program since then. Guaranteed if you told Greg that something like that was going on now, you would have been with a new trainer asap and that trainer wouldn't be training anymore.

Nothing major to report today. Ran a load of plate glass from Illinois to North Carolina yesterday, picked up a load of beer at our terminal in Eden and spent the night in the yard there. Left at about 6am to head to Massachusetts. Miles, miles, miles
Currently at a travel plaza off 87 in New York. Going to get some much needed sleep tonight. Did laundry and took a shower at the terminal last night, so sleep was minimal. Tonight will feel like heaven. Peace y'all, talk to ya soon.

Whoa there. The testing I am talking about is AFTER you get done doing the 15,000 miles finished. You do a test out at one of the schools before you are issued a truck. Yes, get your CDL as soon as possible... But team miles only count for one person the trainer you get paid per day. But your trainer will be happy.
Be Safe Out There
Captain DaveDRAGON64 Thanks this. -
Nope not anymore. Again the training program has been overhauled. Trainees get paid .25 for every mile the truck drives now. No more of the $ per day and have to drive 4 hours minimum to get paid for that day. It's actually a pretty good setup now for trainees to make decent $ while in trainers truck.DRAGON64, Tru$corpio, FLYMIKEXL and 2 others Thank this.

Best of luck! I'll be there tonight. We pulled a dunnage load from the Boston area yesterday, heading to the yard this evening to spend the night. I have another thread describing my time at the Trenton school if you feel like reading it.

I just got done talking to your instructor. He just rolled in from a VERY long run with his current students. Awesome guy, you'll love him.

Well, it had to happen eventually....my first run-in with a lot lizard. We stopped at the Pilot on 55, East St. Louis. Some chick knocked on our door around 1:30am. When she got no response, she climbed up the steps and knocked on the window. She was persistent, I'll give her that. Perry told her to take a hike. When she left, he went and informed security. Between then and the time they arrived, she came back AGAIN! Perry told her to leave again. Eventually some trucker let her in, and security saw it. Cops had arrived at that point. When they wouldn't come out, the cops turned on their lights, and squawked the siren a couple times. Eventually they came out, it was quite the scene. I would have given anything for a lawn chair and a beer at that moment. That was some fine entertainment!
