Keep in mind over 44 million of those 95 million adults out of the workforce are over 70. The percentage of our population over 70 is growing rapidly and is skewing data and projection models that are based on assumptions that were barely true when the model was built.
There are lies, darn lies, statistics, and economists. It's all about which angle you look at things from. Looking at just American GDP, employment rates, and growth rates historically things suck. Expanding to look at historical global trends as well things look a little better. Looking at current global impacts and the American economy looks fantastic.
Comparing economic data over large geographical and time spans is challenging (if not impossible) to do well. -
I look at everything thru a windshield from behind sunglasses squinting from my lights reflecting in my eyes....

If you want the true unemployment number look at the U6 number. The headline number doesn't include the long term unemployed(over 3 months)
