I agree, on the simplicity of a serpentine belt. I think what happened is the clutch froze and wasted the belt. Anything short of running panty hose around the remaining pulley's, you're pretty much dead in the water. Even doing stuff myself, I still had a hard time with the other expenses, and couldn't imagine doing it today. Hearing stuff like this, makes me feel sad, because someone tried, and you can't knock them for that, but in the same breath, I'm sure glad I'm not doing it today.

I think it's much worse than that, as you have new drivers managed by some pinhead that only knows what his computer tells him, that probably hasn't even taken a ride in a big truck, let alone actually gone on a ride moving a load.

BTW the owner of this truck is the driver and at 10pm last night broke down again, truck would not go over 30mph. He said the dash was all lit up.

He has over 30 years experience driving...

I will explain why I started this thread in the near future, just too tired to write it up.

Don't worry, every O/O here knows exactly what this guy is going through. It's all about how well you bounce back from one crushing defeat to the next. There were "good" weeks, and "bad" weeks. If you had a good week ( where, for some reason, everything went right) you actually made money, rest assured a bad one was a'comin'. Funny, ( and not ha-ha funny) like marriage, you can slap someone across the back of the head, "what you doin', man"? And we just don't listen. I didn't. Personally, I'd say, before this guy gets in any deeper, try and bail, cut your losses, and drive someone else's truck for a while. From here on in, it's going to be one step forward and 2 back. Probably take a bath on selling it too.

That's the issue, driver...the emissions. Putting a lot of us out of business.

Despite the outrageous prices there is some information missing from this post that can really tell how screwed this O/O really is.

I added up $36,450 in repairs but I might have missed something. All overpriced, some look unecessesary. Like what do you need to replace the headlights and both seats for?

Leased int 2014 at 355k, so this guys has run what like 200,000 miles in two years time on this thing? 200,000 miles x $.20cpm = $40,000. So despite screwing himself and taking for a ### raping from every mechanic he can find, someone is still complaining about the truck having less then $.20cpm maintenance costs? WTF is this guys business model?

Penske here in Phoenix has two 670's that have just had the injector cups done, and DPF completely serviced. That leaves only the big EGR valve to be done of known issues for that truck ( $800 ). You can get for high $40k with a complete, I mean complete, two year 200K mile drive train warranty included
    in that price.
I'd buy either one in a second. Low 400K miles. Back $4K out if you want no warranty, which is how I'd buy one, cause they have all maintenance records, and the known issues, the big one is already done.
But I never was very smart.

Yeah everything I am seeing for repairs are over prices.. 4000 for tires??? we just had all 8 drives for $2750 done mounted/balance..... Hood shocks $700... Headlights $700... lol I would laugh in them guys faces!!... A/c on that truck required a tow??? mine has seprate belt for it should have never needed a tow... might have gotten hot in cab but not shut you down...

Sounds like need to bust out a couple wrenchs on the weekend so we don't have to have this post on how much truck repairs cost like the rest of us... parts can be expensive enough without dealers/mechinics screwing yeah..

as for emission ####.. yeah thats why we stay away from that ####.

The emissions don't really matter in this story.
The driver is a driver not a O/O.
    He can drive,i hope,but run a bussiness?????
