Depends on the suspension cause.

He said it was suspended for unpaid court cost, it will be something of contention for some insurance companies, so I won't say there is not going to be a problem.
It happens frequently, unfortunately, but there are many current drivers who have had a license suspension in their history. -
When I was applying to companies a Suspension or invalid was a big no no . My license was invalid for 48 hrs and I was pulled over 2 yrs ago and it has prevented me from applying at some good companies , CR England USA truck and swift will probably take you .

A few years before I got my CDL my license was suspended. Company had no problems with the insurance.

A suspension because of unpaid tickets is not a criminal matter. It is a civil matter and therefore will have no effect on anything. Your underlying ticket could be a problem. It will depend on what that ticket was for.
