I still don't understand how people just accept this as fact. Brand spanking new, at a mega, I started at .40 and got a raise to .41 after 3 months. And I get somewhere from 2500-3k miles a week. That's with a sign on bonus.

.28? Can make more than that working two jobs at a McDonald's and a Burger King. Work same hours a week, sleep home every night.

I have a better idea, how about take your obligations to heart, be a man and pay your #### bills.

If you signed on the dotted line its your responsibility, if you didnt understand the implications of that agreement then you shouldnt have signed it.

Thats the problem with this country, too many #### people think the world owes them something instead of getting out there and making their lives better.

    NOBODY OWES YOU ANYTHING!!!

    Pay your bills dead beat!

actually, one CAN FILE bankruptcy more than once in thier lifetime. there is a waiting period, of 8 years.

not entirely true about federally backed student loans.

After doing research based on federal loans, I discover that since the new administration was in control there has been changes to allow a larger share of our Indebited Student Loan holders to get away without paying. Most people do not understand there is approximately 1.45 trillion held by the US People in student loans outstanding with 35% in default (Source ZH) currently. this is almost equal to both Visa and MC credit card outstanding and greater than the federal budget or nearly so approaching some of our top 5 expenditures relative to the size of the GNP we take in.

In our life time the two of us paid Uncle Sam Loans off free and clear cold cash of 2013 in the sum of 46,000 flat. It took a sale of a home and it's disposal to make it happen. Having paid back Uncle Sam we gained a total freedom in our future financially relatively speaking. However many others will not be able to pay back uncle sam in their remaining life times.

What did we gain for that money? Two CDL's one burnt no good worthless 4 year and a burnt 2 year destroyed by immigrants coming here in visa to do the same work 2 years would do in IT.

and this is, in part, the continued rising costs of education in this country. people take advantage of a freebie, at the expense of the schools and feds.

seems to me that if one takes out a student loan, for whatever learning he/she wants to do, then they ought to be held accountable in paying back, either thru the usual payment methods, or garnishing thier wages.

that'll be a most hopeful end to the borrowing from Uncle Sam.

I hear you on the accountable part.

    I offer something else.

My College here in Arkansas was something that got along with about 12 buildings in total since the civil war. Literally the newest of some were 30 years old. That was in 2001 when I enrolled with a hopeful 4 year goal. To rehabilitate myself into some kind of internet data center master of data making a mountain each year. How little did I know.

My college took in thousands of new students like myself on loans. Then they purchased about the equivilant of 6 city blocks surrounding the existing campus and raised up before our eyes 5 majestic towers of learning of 4 to 6 stories in some cases. 3 in most others. Poof 10 years of frantic construction and empire building to accomodate the flood of students and Uncle Sam's Money on loan.

Now they cannot hardly fill the new spaces because when the 4 thousand or so of our Children finally graduate our school system they head out of state to make a livining. The remaining students are approaching 6, 8 and 10 years if not beyond with degrees so high and rarefied trying to purchase thier way into some Government Position in Little Rock... it's sickening. Permastudents.
