Back then they had the miles. If you weren't doing 3000-3200 a week, you were a slacker. Today all of the mega carriers want to see how many trucks and drives they can get, whether they have the freight or not.

Well, when I worked there for 2 years I was a rookie at 21 years old and everything was exciting for me. I was just glad to get out the country and see different cities. Oh, party and meet new woman lol. Anyway, after a while that $600-800 dollar crap is going to get old fast once responsibility kicks in. After working for them for two years I found that local work paid a little more but it was hard labor unloading a trailer full of food as a delivery driver making $1000-$1400 a week. If your young buy your own truck ASAP! You'll like the freedom, No force dispatch and don't do a lease purchase its over priced. Don't buy a truck from a trucking company I know a guy that pays $2800 a month. I pay $616 a month for my truck

Spoke to a feller about 30yo who drives for Werner out of Jax terminal who is quite satisfied with his employment .
LilRedRidingHood, Ultratowel and FXgreene Thank this. -
I’m having mixed feelings. Maybe it’s the Walmart account but I’m not enjoying this here. For weekly drivers they have a stars cpm rate, yet for their slip seat drivers it depends on experience. I’m supposed to be getting and expected to drive 2.2k miles per week but they’re not giving them to me. Slip seats easily getting 2k+. Kind of contradicting and ngl a little upsetting. Anyone else?

Ok ! Lets get something straight , this is to the Werner Nay Sayers , If you only made 154.00 dollars a week I personally can tell two things about you . One your either real dumb or lazy and im not sorry to say this as I worked for Werner back in 2020 and my smallest settlement was $835.00 that is by far bigger than most trucking companies will pay for a newbee . Yeah you heard that I was a newbee to trucking OTR in 2020 , I have worked on heavy trucks and heavy equipment for over 37 years until I was injured on the job which caused me to switch to driving . Also I owned the business that repaired this type of equipment . Why did I leave werner had an accident , not somthing I ever had in my life driving I was 54 then when the accident happened not my fault just some four wheeler in big hurry . Ok ! getting past all that , Werner has treated two very good freinds of mine I made working for Werner , one lives in Lynchburg VA , the other in Lyndonville Vermont where i live . The largest settlemnt I made with Werner before I went Owner Operator was pretty big for just being a company driver it was $1609.00 . Now thats a #### good chech if you ask me . Being an owner operator has given me some and I say some more time to myself and home , but if you add it all up I had more home time with Werner and made more money as a company driver then I do as a owner operator . You migfht ask yourself , Why the hell is he an owner operator , because its what I chose and when my $ 200.000 truck is payed off ill own it , remember I used to own a business thats what makes me want to own a truck , owning something that I work hard for , its in my blood . So anyone that says they dont make money with Werner , you should keep you comments to yourself as you are not a truck driver you are just someone who thinks he can get rich being an OTR . Laziness will get you no where , course maybe your comfortable with lazy , thats why you never succeed in life and choose to blame everyone else . Now i know that this reveiw is going to piss some people off , I really dont care as I know for a FACT that Werner is not a bad company ,they took care of me and my family . As for NAY SAYERS , good luck with your career your gonna need it . Proof is in the pudding .
