Stahl Peterbilt in Fort Mac had a sign posted up in their service department about 6 years ago that stated $190/hr regular shop rate. Insane.Dave_in_AZ and Lepton1 Thank this.

If you have lines for primary and secondary off the dryer, there is no wet tank. SMH, what the heck is Freightliner thinking on that one?Lepton1 Thanks this.

Well. The Dryer is supposed to pass gas (Moisture) now and then. IF it aint fartin it aint working me thinks.
So it's the valve. Cool. -
New air dryer arrived. Installing now and test the system soon. Real friendly and helpful staff here. I told the manager I was posting about them here. He remembered my brother. He is going to discount the air dryer.
It's called Western Auto, but you walk in and see brake cans, drums, and truck parts. Lots of local truckers get their work done here. You can walk into the shop and talk directly with the mechanic and see your work being done.sawmill, tucker and Dave_in_AZ Thank this. -
Test drive and everything is 5 by 5. No loads headed anywhere toward OKC, deadheading.
tucker, WrenchWrenchWrench, Dave_in_AZ and 1 other person Thank this. -
Sounds to me like going back 40 years to fix stuff rather than the computer crap today. Love it.
Lepton1 Thanks this. -
Back in Oklahoma, waiting to meet my brother for some brisket at the first travel stop on the OK turnpike. Now when I hear the cutout spit at 125 psi it sounds like a polite little dainty fart instead of the "oops-I-gotta-clean-myself" shart.
Items dependent on air supply work properly. The high/low range selector works and the air conditioning finally stays on the selected fan speed and temperature (a first for me in over a year in this truck).
Tomorrow will be getting ready to fly Saturday. Wash the truck, do laundry, get an actual haircut to repair places I can't see when I clip my own, and get the truck checked in at the mechanic. He will be working on the transmission. Even with the new air dryer removing almost all of the grinding trying to switch from high to low range, I had a few downshifts so far with a hint of the issue. -
Not only that, but you don't have the idiocy of having to talk to somebody behind a counter that doesn't have a clue and you definitely can't talk to the actual mechanic and can't watch the work being done. Might as well throw up bullet proof glass and call it a shop for a mega carrier the way some of the dealerships treat you.
Western Auto is first rate in my book.spyder7723 and x1Heavy Thank this.
