Hey everyone...thx again for the info...got a denial from the review comittee today at TMC. Guess someone else is more qualified. I asked why and thats what my recruiter said. Oh well, any advice on other good companies to drive for would be appreciated. Really wanted to work for TMC, as I like the attention to detail, percentage pay, weekend home time and the physical side of flatbed, but what are ya gonna do. Anyone know much about Roehl?

How about PGT out of PA? Or Melton? Or Maverick? All of those companies train. There is an outfit in Aberdeen , Zenith, but I think they require some experience.

Thanks for the reply "bigred"... I actually received an approval from Maverick last week! So I am excited about that...looking to start their CDL school in October hopefully.

I have heard of Melton, but not PGT in PA. Where in PA are they located?

Monaca, which is near Pittsburgh. They have some good sounding commercials on YouTube . I see the trucks on 270 and 95 often.

Maverick is a solid company to work for, they have a good training program and have a flatbed and glass division as well as temp controlled. They have nice trucks but their whole fleet is automatic.

look to see if you are in the hiring area for mcellroy, they are a good flatbed company with christian values you would be home every weekend.

I am a TMC driver and i know the struggle is real , good luck sir

I live in Cen IL, 3 miles off of I-55. Just kind of wondering what states I would run most often. Thank you in advance.

The ones immediately bordering IL--the "breadbasket", I used to call it while living in Indianapolis. IL, IN, OH, KY, MO primarily, and some MI, WI & TN. But that's all withim your home zone. They try (or so I was told by the planners) to keep you within 500 miles of home, but of course if the loads are there they'll shoot you out of that radius, but try to find you something going back into it if and when possible. (Case in point: I used to run into PA and CT a LOT on Monday/Tuesdays. Bristol CT is about 560 mi from Indy if I remember right. But there's times I've run Monday/Tuesday loads into TX and made it back home for the weekend, or out to like Charleston SC or Williamsburg VA both of which are roughly of 600 mi, give or take 50, from Russellville KY (if you recognize that town name you already know what I'm referring to here).

    Hope this helps.

I lived in the NE and I would have to request to stay out. Illinois is smack dab in TMC country you will be home every weekend and depending on if you live near a good lane you will be able to spend a night or two at home during the week.
