China and Ukraine have reached an agreement to build the largest aircraft in the World.
The Antonov-225 Mriya was originally designed in the early 1980s as part of the space programme of the Soviet Union.
However, only one aircraft was completed in 1988, with a second left unfinished after the project was cancelled.
According to Business Insider UK, that second aircraft will now be finished, and delivered to the Aerospace Industry Corporation of China.
Apparently, further aircraft will then be produced in China, under agreement from Antonov.
The 225 is the longest and heaviest aircraft ever built, and is powered by six engines.
It can carry an astonishing 250,000 KG load of cargo, and has a maximum range of just under 10,000 miles.
The one aircraft currently in service is used for commercial freight aircraft, and holds several world records, including the heaviest single item ever carried by air freight.
Items that have travelled in the aircraft include trains, commercial generators and humanitarian aid.

The Chinese do some amazing things. Bought that unfinished giant transport plane; bought an old aircraft carrier hull and finished it, when Greece went bankrupt they bought the Greek Navy's 4 giant hovercraft, then moved them along with the entire maintenance facilities to China.
Here's some info on the hovercraft:
The Zubr-class landing craft has a cargo area of 400 square metres (4,300 sq ft) and a fuel capacity of 56 tons. It can carry three main battle tanks (up to 150 tonnes), or ten armoured vehicles with 140 troops (up to 131 tonnes), or 8 armoured personnel carriers of total mass up to 115 tonnes, or 8 amphibious tanks or up to 500 troops (with 360 troops in the cargo compartment).
At full displacement the ship is capable of negotiating up to 5-degree gradients on non-equipped shores and 1.6m-high vertical walls. The Zubr remains seaworthy in conditions up to Sea State 4. The vessel has a cruising speed of 30-40 knots.
To improve working conditions in the battle stations, troop compartments and living quarters are fitted with air-conditioning and heating-systems, sound/heat-insulating coatings, and structures made of vibration damping materials. The ship provides normal conditions for the crew to make meals and rest.

Didn't a Chinese company buy the commercial part of Hummer?
-
The military hummers are pieces of dookie, the Chinese couldn't ruin it much more.

Sichuan Tengzhong Heavy Industrial Machinery Company Ltd.
They came under a lot of government scrutiny because of questions as to why an industrial machinery company wanted to buy an auto manufacturer. It was finally approved though.
Remember when a company in India, maybe Tata Motors, bought Land Rover? They said China will be a huge customer for Land Rovers because of the rising middle class. Well, some Chinese bought a few Land Rovers and reverse engineered them and built copies that actually look better and are half the cost. They tweeked the interior to make it more luxurious and a few other things.KriegHund Thanks this. -
