My vote goes to Milwaukee WI in city category and to I65 SB to Indianapolis in interstate category.

I live in Cincinnati and I say them. Actually the whole state of Ohio. They have been working on 75 in Dayton fod 20 years.
Nashville would be up there.
Toll roads thru NY and PA cause they make the lanes small. -
100 mile radius of Dallas. No contest.
LindaPV Thanks this. -

I learned a long time ago that most of these issues are because they don't enforce the laws on construction.
Our state of denial - Michigan - has laws on the books for decades to protect the public.
Here the laws go from specific signs like flagman and lane closures all to traffic lights but that does not include ad hoc idiot with a sign stopping traffic or those blinking arrows. Here we are supposed to have feathered man hole covers where they are resurfacing with ashphalt but I never see it done nor do I see the idea that barrels and cones have specific placements within the lanes.
Last week I went through a tight zone where there was barely enough road to drive on only to turn a corner to find the road closed, no sign, ten cars behind me and the idiot yelling at me that this is a construction zone. I called the cops who came out and had me and everyone else drive over the fresh road, ruining it.
Yesterday I went through one construction zone where the barrels were setup so narrow that there is no way to miss them or hit the curb with any truck, I decided that with the deer guard on the truck, it's easier to just hit the barrels out of the way, so I did for a mile with a cop just watching me as I come down the road. I waved, he smiled. -
Gotta plan 30-60 minutes when going through Indy. The ramp from 65 to 64SB is closed.
Ohio must've received one heck of a budget for construction cause they're doing construction everywhere this year.Xzay Thanks this. -
To that I would add a pet peeve of mine that I am sure contributes to many rear end collisions: construction zones that cry "Wolf!"
Some states are worse than others, but at times it seems like more than half of announced construction zones never materialize. After a while it's easy to ignore speed reduction signs and then the "wolf" actually makes an appearance.
If construction zones aren't active either cover or remove the signs.texasbbqbest, RustyChops41 and Longarm Thank this. -
I read all of these and agree with all!
But yesterday I found what I consider to be the worst of the worst!!
I88 coming out of Eastern NY....connecting to I86.
I88 should be completely shut down IMO....full Federal intervention!!texasbbqbest, scotty68, Lepton1 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Houston, 8 lanes on each side of the highway and still has bumper to bumper traffic
texasbbqbest and LindaPV Thank this.
