The iceless set ups are good for 40 below ambient if you don't keep opening it and putting warm drinks in there to cool them down. Keep the ambient temps below 80 in your cab and you are ok.

They have this great little invention called a thermometer, thrown one in the cooler and see what the temp really is, I had a cordless one that I could monitor on the dash.
peterd and driverdriver Thank this. -
See I don't know where to get dry ice at lol. What kind of meat should I carry for my crockpot?
-
This. Well either Engel or the ARB brand. Can be used 12v or 120 if you have an inverter. Both brands are ultra low voltage can run for days w/o draining the batteries if they're in ok shape. Kind of expensive but if you're going to be driving for years its an investment that is well worth it. No more ice or worry about "ambient temp" and can be used as a freezer if you simply turn it down enough.

Disappointed here, thought we were going too learn different ways of. . Well you know.I'm going too try that ice on my meat, wonder how many cubes will fit in with it?

You can get dry ice at many grocery stores. I don't know anyone using dry ice in truck coolers or fridges. For 12 volt coolers just make sure to put cold items inside an already cold cooler. I used to pre-cool my cooler at home 12 hours before leaving for the week, I bought the household power adapter so it could run on 120v AC. I took it with me in case I got a layover in a hotel. I could run my cooler in the hotel room.
I alte almost every meal from my cooler for 3 years. I had to throw away food 1 or 2 times after I failed to notice a blown fuse or melted power cord. I then got a digital thermometer mean to show inside/outside temps and put the outside sensor in the cooler and could just look over and see the cooler temp.
I would most likely buy the meat on the day you want to cook it. -
I wouldn't keep too much meat in the trk.But a little bit in the ice cooler at a time will be alright as long as you empty the water often and add more ice.I never liked those 12 v coolers, nothing got cold.I ended up giving it to the goodwill.KriegHund Thanks this.

Or you could forget about the hassle of what to do with your meat an go to
Ted's stake house where they love to put their meat in your mouth.
This whole thread is just way to tempting lmao.
