Well now it is time for me to step into this here discussion. K&B is one of the long line of companies that have fired me. So take this for what it is worth. The pay at K&B for a company driver is in the top tier. You are promised $1150 a week but this is only on a week where you work 7 days. If you go home the guarantee is worthless. That is a fact. They have one of the highest turnover rates in the industry. Why? Because the dispatchers are a group of AHOLES who micromanage everything you do. They had me so pissy that I tried to quit and they kept talking me out of it. The trucks are freightliners and yes they are governed low but that is due to the fact they get better mileage at those levels. You drive nights, so sleeping is a day job. Some have a hard time about doing it. Their insurance is Nebraska Blue Cross and Blue Shield which is some of the best insurance around. Big plus for the company there. The gal that handles their maintenance is first class. She is the star of the company as far as I am concerned. The dispatcher I had there was a nice enough guy. I had to jump him the first time he pulled the mirco management with me but after that we got along fine. The ones that make your life unbearable there are the night and weekend crew. They cannot figure out that calling you during your 10 hour break is a no no. Then there is the relays. They do more relays then any other company that I have ever worked for. Sure there is a big picture that the drivers do not know but I know they s c rewed me out of $ many time by have me hand off a good run for one that had lots of sitting to do.

Most of their loads are Tyson runs. Night time driving. I like Night time driving so that was a plus for me. Lots of runs to Walmart DCs so you set on your a ss for 4 to 5 hours there, no detention pay. You do lots of Chicago runs so watch out for Bridges.

But my main problem with them is that they fired me. Okay, I get it. I joked around and someone acted offend at Tyson Olathe. She filed a complain and they had one of the evening crew fire me. Another guy got fired the same Saturday night as I got canned and we had to find our own way back home. My wife had to drive from Kansas City to South Sioux City to pick us up. His son drove from Oklahoma City to pick him up there.

I called Hirschbach the next day and had a job. First load was Tyson Olathe. Told the Tyson manager there what happened to me and why, the woman who filed the complaint was fired for sending the complaint to K and B. She should have gone through channels. She would have figured something out if she had.

Would I recommend K&B for company drivers, Yes. It is a steady check. But they put pressure on you to drive unsafely. They Chain up in the winter. They do not respect drivers and they go through them like M&Ms. We had a guy quit during orientation. Turnover rate 180% plus. I do not believe anyone there leases anything so none of those lease fleece purchases.

Of course K&B is rumored to be a bankruptcy waiting to happen. I do not know if that is a fact but cash your checks quickly.

Bottomline, I was happy there but I am so very much happier where I am now. But, if being at K&B would give me a shot at asking PattyJ out, I would be there in a heartbeat.

I respect your post. And from your own words, it looks like you didn't want to leave the company because you were loving it here. I'm glad you were able to find a job with a short period of time. I hope Hirschbach is treating you right. Good luck

It's actually $1000 but like I said before, I have never recruited anyone to K&B but I have put the word out there many times.

If you actually followed up the whole situation with Abe, you would've known what happened next. I did see a thug, but good job for the name calling.

Cmon Sarik, you are foolish to go to so much trouble for $500 down, $500 in a year!
KB is begging for drivers every week. If you aren't honest about the downside, you can't refer squat.

This post wasn't to recruit anyone. Why do people get so defensive when I point out the positive about the company? I don't get it. I simply shared my experience at K&B, I had no intention to make this a recruiting thing. But anyways goodnight Linda, will talk later

Lol you cracked me up, that was a good one. I remember that incident and I love the guy and follow the guy on YouTube, his name is Abe A.K.A Run hard get paid. Honestly I have mixed feelings about that incident, he had 20 off duty hours before getting the load if I remember correctly. I agree, things shouldn't have escalated to that point but like I said before K&B is runned by humans like us, they do make mistakes every now and then.

He was off duty for his 10 hrs, then told to go pick a load up 30 mins away. Take ANOTHER 10 hr break there and drive in the middle of the night. If you just had a 10 in which you slept, worked for 30 mins, reasonable to think you wouldn't be able to sleep another 8-10 hrs
