Most times, the technicians are just code chasers in the computer. Unless they have an active code, it may be something that cannot be replicated until you leave, & it occurs while driving, far down the line.

Have driven several makes & models, and have run into this before. Frustrating, to say the least, to leave dealership just to have same repetitive issue occur multiple times. Pull it into dealer & no issue AT THAT MOMENT. But, nature of our computerized crap of today. Frustrating as all get out at times.

I've been going back to different freightliners because I'm under a 30 day guarantee for the work. So far they haven't charged me anything more (other than 90 for labor for the lane departure camera).
I'm going to be in LA for a day or two. I might check out their shop. Man, it seems like every freightliner is rated incredibly low. Can't tell if the shop is actual crap or people only generally leave negative reviews for mechanics.

This is a rookie straight out of school.
Your speaking another language to him.
Prime flashed the big numbers in class and
He got suckered into a fleece.

Your asking him about maintenance cost per mile,
He's worried about where he's gonna get his
Next meal from he's so broke.

It's a crime what they do to these new guys.

First off bucko. I'm female. Secondly, I still have a few grand because I'm not an idiot. Let's just use 40k. That would put me at 0.0375 cents per mile if I factor in my oil change as well. Not freaking bad since I save back 5 cents per mile anyway.

Grrrr, can I finish my shower and have breakfast first before I get pulled into something today? Lol. I'll be back in a few, looks like a lot of people have tried to respond already so I'll need to see what they said before I get back to the issue here.

    He/she doesn't make a difference.
Don't lease a truck straight out of school no
Matter what the company tells you.
And don't believe all the lease drivers that tell you they
    Make 3 grand a week.
How many rookie drivers are gonna know that the company
Dumped a lemon truck on them.
They don't even know what trucks you can make
Money with or which ones are junk yet.

I'm going to finish this lease and you're going to eat your words. Buttface.

Edit: Ok a lease. Maybe not this truck. Because it's a buttface too.

Los Angeles Freightliner, the Whittier store, has done very well each time I went there.

Amarillo, TX and Spokane, WA are two other very good dealer service locations.

First off there's no way I can diagnose your trucks problem, but I'm certain you don't expect that of me anyway. But I do want to say that as I'm sure you've learned by now that theres a ton of things that could be causing this. You've already mentioned the clutch sensor and the batteries, onguard also ties into the cruise control, and so does abs, and all the sensors that support abs. Sometimes we can get an electrical issue in a truck that can be a nightmare to find and thus repair, and it could be something simple that will be resolved completely once its dicovered and never cause you a problem again. Or you could be attempting to have this thing down at a dealership in every other state for the next who knows. I do however believe that if anything mechanical breaks it CAN be diagnosed and fixed its just a matter of time. The good news is that you have an emergency fund to fall back on and that the repairs have been covered by warranty.

There's just no cut and dry answer on this because were trying to figure out what the trucks going to do which we don't know. So it maybe better to look at it from a different standpoint. You only have 40k miles of contributing to the lease completion fund. I'm not sure where my head was earlier when I asked you about the tire fund the tire fund is a moot point because as you contribute you burn the rubber off anyway. So the only funds you're losing by walking on this truck is the lease completion, again only 40k miles worth.

Given the situation I would get out of the truck but that's just me, and I wouldn't leave the yard without a brand new truck and it would be a freightliner, or nothing else, statistically they are more reliable. I say that I would go brand new because that's usually the most reliable time in the trucks life and you're starting a new business, and you need that security a new truck should offer. I would take a new truck even I didn't plan on completing a three year lease, knowing that I would walk away from the bonus, and I would let the lease bonus guide as near zero of my decisions as possible untill it was darn near time to collect it. I'm very conservative in business I almost always go after the sure thing I try to minimize risk just about whenever possible even when it lowers my payoff and this has worked very well for me. I can only what say I would do I don't want to push you to make a business decision that doesn't suit you or your goals and agenda. If your not planning on completing a lease on a new truck then it puts you in a position later down the road of possibly walking away from a whole lot more of a lease completion bonus than the 40k miles worth that has you thinking twice now. I don't know what your plans are here, how long you plan on staying, or how long you plan on leasing. You're going to have to make this decision suit you.

Somethings to think about if you plan on getting a new truck. Do they have one available or will there be a wait? I don't see anything listed on success website in inventory, but of course its not current due to the holiday. Also I've seen even a brand new truck have problems, usually its something like an apu intall that got botched, or something else that isn't too major. However I've seen one brand new truck have problems that came from a mistake on the assembly line with the fuel system and over first 30k miles the driver had the truck in and out of the shop chasing a problem that they couldn't find and repair for quite awhile as well. So there's no perfect way however we do see less problems with brand new.

Of course another way to go is to get a another used truck. If I were in your shoes I don't think I would. The truck your in now is having problems but its not having costly problems, outside of the cost of downtime. Remember your situation could be worse and if you go get another used truck you could wind up in a worse position, or maybe a better one its a crapshoot and I don't like crapshoots I like sure things. At least where you are now you know your situation more than you would with another used truck and from what I'm hearing you have funds and you will make it out of this even if it stinks doing it.

Please let us know how this turns out we wish you the best of luck, and feel free to pm me or message me here in this thread if there's any other questions you have or anything I can do to help you!
