    They've certainly loosened their standards.

Years ago there was no glasses and 5 years on previous job.

They appear to have tightened up on one aspect. Must live within 250 miles from terminal or willing to relocate.

What was that one dude, 750 miles from terminal?

With Hanjin going under , an election year and the state of the Chinese economy , it can't be new business , it must be older drivers retiring

Thanks fellas, you have all been a great help. I am going to show him the thread and see what he thinks. I may see him later this week.

Even 250 is too far (for me anyway) unless you can take the truck home with you. I may be going with a company where the terminal is 88 miles from my house, and I'm not crazy about it. I'll do it though, as it's what's going to get me what I need at the moment, but I prefer to be 50 miles or less away from where I report.

I worked for 3 companies over 6 years. All of them in the same po town. 90 miles north. Glad to be home again. Now I only drive 6 miles. Every day.

I do think my dad would not mind being on the road 10-14 days at a time before getting home. Higher paying jobs for being out like this?

Old Dominion - line haul division
    A&R Logistics - $62K to $72K if you hustle.

Anyway you look at it, a pay cut from 90K to 65K is a hard kick in the nuts. (BTW, it's closer to 30% than 20%.)
@Chinatown was exactly right in his post, about these mega outfits getting rid of drivers that command too much money. AND if there is any type of retirement plan there, it will add fuel to their fire.
Just from what I'm seeing on this board though, things are again tightening up. So he needs to be very cautious in where he is moving too. Also, if they really are trying to get rid of him, and he doesn't take the hint, there will be other "unpleasant" things that come up. It's really amazing what an outfit can get away with, when it comes to screwing drivers.

Sodrel has a terminal in Cincinnati. Different accounts and mail is one of them.
