Rest area! WV 70 westbound. Didn't feel like dealing with the TA to park and this place is nice and quiet.

    Petro in Remington, Indiana.

Had a terrible day. Woke up, drove 24 miles to the receiver. Sat for 3 hours to get unloaded. Left there, drove 65 miles to shipper. Was a broker load, food grade. Trailer was as clean as I could get it. We haul a lot of scrap paper so as you can imagine, there are tons of scrap paper particles in places I couldn't possibly clean. Got the floor spotless. 2 1/2 hours later, they rejected the trailer. This completely screwed up my entire week. They found me another broker load 65 miles away, but I can't load there until the morning. So I drove to this truck stop for layover. Got $50 for layover. 189 or so total miles today, plus $50 layover. I didn't make crap! Ugh.

I was really excited for the original plan, too. I was going to end up taking the ferry from St. Ignace to Mackinac Island (yes, the island, where there are no cars really) and loading scrap paper for Green Bay Packaging. That is almost a once in a lifetime opportunity, to say you've driven a big rig on Mackinac Island. Now I can't do it because I won't get to St. Ignace before the ferry leaves at 5:00AM Thursday morning. :(

Oh well. We all have crappy weeks once in a while!

Having a s*itty and short day today would have definitely been made up for if I was still able to do that run.. I wouldn't even care about the low mileage/income week, that experience would just be so cool. I was so friggen excited when I saw that come across on my Qualcomm that I had to call and ask to make sure they didn't mistype Mackinaw City.

Yes. I got paid $50 for layover today. I started at 9:15 this morning, drove 24 miles the sat for 3 hours. Then drove 60 some miles, sat for another 3 hours. Then drove 100 to this truck stop, now I'm taking way more than a 10 hour break because I can't load until 7:30 tomorrow morning.
