I got a level 1 at the 84 farewell poe this morning .
They were pleasant people but they left no stone unturned, they inspected my chains , matched all my receipts against my logs and called the shipper in Ohio to see when I loaded .
Came out clean with cvsa stickers but the way they were digging had me concerned.
Boy Oregon don't mess around !

Ok i have a question. I just started paper logs.
When i arrive at the shipper or receiver is it necessary to put down 15 minutes on duty on the paper logs?
What if i was on duty for only 5 or 10 minutes? How do you show 5 or 10 minutes on duty when paper logs only have increments of 15 minutes?
How far back in the log book do they go?
Might end up going to oregon soon and dont want any errors. -
Round to the nearest quarter hour.
1507 = 1500, 1508 = 1515 and so on.
I always logged 15 minutes line 4 at shippers and receivers.Dave_in_AZ, Lepton1 and RockinChair Thank this. -
That state is definitely one place I absolutely do not miss going through.
From the coops being open at 3am on Saturday to chain laws going up with a 1/4 inch of snow.
It's understandable they're just doing the job they are paid to do, however it still irks me.Dharok, EverLuc, ramblingman and 1 other person Thank this. -
They probably stalk you on TTR and know you as a dirty, no good outlaw.OLDSKOOLERnWV, ramblingman, thejackal and 6 others Thank this.

Curious...how long did the inspection take? My understanding is they are supposed to take no longer then 30 minutes.

Log it as you do it.
Off Duty = Line 1.
Sleeper Berth = Line 2.
Driving = Line 3.
On-Duty/Not Driving = Line 4.
There is no specified duration you MUST spend on any line, other than the ACTUAL length of time it took to do whatever it was you were doing.
And if it takes less than 7 minutes, you're still supposed to flag the location AND write down how many minutes it took to do what you did. Simply flagging it without including the duration of time can still earn you a citation.double yellow, brian991219 and RockinChair Thank this. -
It was close to an hour but they wrote it up as 45 minutes .Dave_in_AZ and Lepton1 Thank this.

Be glad you passed.
I don't know what they do. And how they do it. I went from boise to seattle and down to san diego. I got pulled in at the first oregeon scale on the 5. My logs didn't match washington scales but they weren't that far off. He spent a good 30 minutes on me and passed me.
He also asked for my fuel receipts. Unfortunately, I turn them in with every trip pak in the mail.Toomanybikes and bzinger Thank this. -
Oh I'm not complaining lol...was just surprised at how through they were , I've been inspected plenty over the years but never to the degree of today and never had anyone go thru my receipts or call a shipper .thejackal and Toomanybikes Thank this.
