I'm in school now. I'm definitely wanting to do flatbed. Which is best; Roehl, TMC, or Maverick?

Put your location on your profile so we know the hiring area you live in.

@Vintage Pablo - Your age; are you over 21,22,23 because that's the minimum age for some companies.

    Good location in Little Rock:
Keim TS - big studio sleepers
    System Transport
    Pride Transport - flatbed division
    Melton Truck Lines
    Britton Transport
Submit applications now; don't wait until graduation. You can do the online applications.
Apply to as many companies as you want, then pick the best job offer.

Among those you mentioned, Maverick or TMC.
I'm not as familiar with what Chinatown mentioned, but are probably worth a look.
I've heard Roehl can micromanage a bit too much with routing and fuel stops, at least that's what I was reading a year or two ago on them.
Maverick trucks are governed a little faster than TMC @ 65 versus 62 or 63.
TMC can be a bit obsessive about truck cleanliness with those fancy black Pete's, or so I've heard.
Maverick expects a clean truck, on-time deliveries and rule -following, but for the most part, you don't feel like they're too heavy-handed unless perhaps you're not doing those things.
I'm thinking pay and benefits would be similar among those two.
Maverick of course has the NLR yard so finding a place to park while at home would not be an issue. They'll get you home most weekends if you don't opt for long haul, and pay will still be pretty good.

Thanks. I was thinking maverick to begin with. Just needed someone else's opinion.

Thanks. I'll do some research on them and see what's best.

Eventually (trust me on this), you are going to find that "home time" is just as (if not more) important as anything else on your 'wish list'....there is not a whole lot bad said about Maverick here or anywhere else. Living where you live...I don't know why you'd even consider anyone else.

With Maverick you could be home during orientation. If you are looking for "great" rewards you are in the wrong industry as a newbie. Good luck
