If you're coming up I25 from the south, the Roadrunner Travel Center in Lemitar, NM at exit 156 always has tons of parking and the Crane Cafe makes good food. Showers are $5 IIRC.

It's less than an hour. If you're coming up I25 you'll run into it before you get to Lost Loonies.

any time I've been there its all about the wait, long line's , drops turning into live unloads with the usual it's a walmart order doesn't matter what you planned based on the information before committing to it.

the best plan would be no plan with time if you can plan it for parking or another run.

I've delivered twice there in the past month or so. People behind the desk are quite nice actually and this past time I obliterated the clamps holding in my u-joint and dropped my drive shaft just past the guard shack. Had a mechanic come out and repair and despite what TQL said about the load being delivered the next day, I still delivered later that afternoon. Empty back home to El Paso and home for the night. They did take a while offloading but it was a "work in", so I was happy to not layover until the next day.

That said, Los Lunas should be boycotted and nothing delivered there until they make some sort of accommodations for truck parking- that or close the Walmart DC which is, no doubt, the sole reason so many trucks end up there and bring money into that town.

Or you could drive around 40 miles to the Rt66 Casino with plenty of truck parking, showers and the best buffet I've ever had!

What Fajo said. Don 't park around there and certainly don't be early or late! I had parking at the house closeby...but they were always the surly, waste my time mostly typical WalMart. Only reason I took the loads is it did get home every time. Alot of times I'd be early, so I'd get an extra day before starting my 34 which was just ducky with me.

The casino in Isletta is nice. Pretty good steakhouse inside. Only takes 18 minutes from DC to the lot at the casino.
