Embarassing Incident this morning

I had a rental Volvo 6 months ago, and I accidentally pipped the hood while looking for a steering wheel adjustment. I just braked smoothly to the shoulder, relatched it, and hoped nobody saw me....lol

 

It could be worse. Years ago I knew a guy driving a cabover, he forgot to latch the cab and the safety catch was broke. When he stopped at a red light, over he went. Now that's embarrassing.

 

Isn't that funny how things happen in front of officers or a weigh station.Your hood must be lite weight to fly open like that.There's been times I forgot to latch the hood and it still didn't move because it was so heavy.

 

have the hood, and bracketry checked now for cracks.

 

Did that at the Cajon scales on I15NB. Did my pre-trip in Jurupa Valley a driver walked by and we started talking. So I'm going over the speed bump at the scale BT, hood jumps up a little. "Central pull in between the barriers."

Got a level 2 for my troubles, passed but the officer road me hard. Guess what I triple check on my pre-trip now.

 

Cop could have shot you. Or at least whipped you.

 

Forgot to latch the hood pins on a race car once. That was an expensive lesson...

 

What do you drivers open the hood for anyways? Don't your hands get dirty?

 

Matter of fact I'm getting a new fan belt right now, half of it decided to just up and disappear. Guess there's something to this pre tripping thing after all.
