Ha! there was a Swift driver who posted here a while back saying he was "cutting it up on the CB" in a truck stop and bragged he was drinking beer. Somebody snitched on him and the cops came out and hauled him off in handcuffs.
Advice on if I can get hired after being fired for a open container violation.

So how did you get the before and after of that story?
Perhaps you could provide a link to that thread, since it was on this forum? -
He pays his salary, dontcha know...

He should have called the Federal Marshall Service and they would have beat the cops and locked them up in a maximum security prison for life.Lepton1, Lucy in the Sky and dngrous_dime Thank this.

I keep them on speed dial.

They wanted to see my log book one time, so I speed dialed the Federal Marshall Service and 10 minutes later a Huey landed on the interstate and they slammed the cops down face first on the pavement and cuffed them. The kicked them a few times and looked at me and said,"You didn't see anything did you?"Lepton1, tucker, Florida Playboy and 1 other person Thank this.

Well, Debra, I'm not trying to pile on, but you knew, we all know, alcohol and a bunch of other substances are not allowed on a truck, not anywhere. "I keep my blood pressure down..." all that is utterly meaningless. It's a law. You violated that law with intent and prior knowledge, so let's ask this question. Whose insurance company or truck owner would want to take a chance on a known, deliberate offender? Maybe somebody, but probably not.
Besides, who'd want somebody that dumb sitting in their truck?spyder7723 Thanks this. -
Local law requires an LEO to wait with his lights on after a vehicle stop until the individual stopped has left the scene as to prevent an motor vehicle accident.
This happened after a near fatal accident occurred many years before where an officer stopped a vehicle and after issuing the ticket pulled away while the ticketed driver was putting away her license and registration. She had not put her seat belt on and was rear ended and hospitalized.
A lawsuit from her family decided that the city, department, and officer involved were a direct cause to her injuries due to not protecting the scene until her vehicle left. Now at least locally PD remains on scene until you are back on the road.scottied67, Lepton1 and Florida Playboy Thank this. -
If that were the case, I would have made it a 10-15 hour ordeal "putting my car back together"...make sure he's late for whatever HE had planned on doing after work.
scottied67 and Florida Playboy Thank this. -
He posted everything and was asking if his trucking days were over. I can't pull up the thread as it was probably from 2008 or 2009. Maybe somebody else remembers it. Moral is, don't be an idiot and keep alcohol away from anything trucking related.Starboyjim Thanks this.
