Dayton freight hiring process

    Just wondering how the interview and hiring process is, got a call and have an interview set up for the next week. Searchingaround for good local jobs and Dayton is one that called. Any help would be great, thank you.

    I interviewed with the terminal manager first, then the operations manager, then the regional manager via Skype. Sell yourself and your experience. It's a #### good job. I was up there recently (at night) and the managers were good guys. Good luck! PM me if you have any other questions.

    Only because the regional manager will most likely be at another terminal or out of state. I think I did it on two separate days because the ops manager wasn't there when I interviewed with the terminal manager. You get by them, then talk to the regional manager. Are you applying for P&D or is there a linehaul position open?

    P&D out of Warren Michigan, which is good because I would much rather work days. Was it a difficult interview? Most interviews I've dealt with were pretty easy and almost a guarantee. I have a couple other job offers, just seems like Dayton is going to pay the best, plus it's a larger company

    Not difficult. I think they mainly want to see a positive personality, since you'll be dealing directly with customers. My only advice would be to not trash talk your current or any former employers. I had to be very diplomatic in how I described some bad past jobs and focus on the positives that came out of them.

    Well that shouldn't be an issue then, never had a problem with any of my previous jobs, just left for personal reasons like better home time and such

    One of the main things they want to be sure of is that you know what you're getting into. The possibility of 20+ stops per day, going to places with no docks on a regular basis, etc.

    Not an issue with me, the company I'm with right now puts me on the local board from to time since I live so close and I like it. Driving a sleeper cab around Detroit making multiple stops is fun
