You met Mark, super nice guy and a great ATM. Yeah I did support work when I was in KC, went and helped in St Louis a bunch then went and help in a small drop yard with 2 trucks call Mt Vernon. This summer they offered me two weeks up in Aberdeen but I turned it down due to personal reason at home. I'll probably do more support work next year. You can't beat the pay!!!
I still have a few open days during the week but my assigned days are school routes that offer cases and miles. I don't mind working 10-14 hour days when other guys wanna be off in 7 hours. I like the money. I also do a lot of back hauls. When I was in KC I got trained on doubles so up there and down in FL I help out on the transit side. My end goal is either ATM or a transit job. -
Same here, all week long the stops have been kind of with each other, but kind of not, I've been doing my fare share of moving and digging.

I had to down stack a whole 75 case pallet for 6 cases of chicken on the bottom.... I wasn't happy lol
Mike2633 Thanks this. -
Yes I met Mark, when we went to Pottsville to stay as reserves around the time the warehouse closing announcement was being broadcast. Yes Mark's a really nice guy.
I was never formally trained on doubles, but I've done them, because I used to share a truck with a transit driver and because on Christmas I try to run volume truck the opportunity comes to pull them, however our division it is very rare anymore for sales service guys to pull doubles, they really do not use us at all to help out on transit. They do use us on volunteer basis for volume truck extra run's, but that's about it they keep us and the road guys pretty separate. I wouldn't mind actually being a volume truck driver I would almost prefer that over transit or work in the fleet department, will see. -
I had to do some moving too, but not like that.

Alright so today was a good one, I got to work 3am and my trailer was no ware insight. So you all know I am a drop lot driver, I don't work out of a warehouse so my trailer gets pulled with another trailer to the yard every night from the warehouse in a doubles configuration.
Anyhow get to work at 3am trailer is nowhere to be seen. I listen to my voice mail and it's slated to come in at 5am. Oh boy only a couple hours late...which it ended up not mattering anyhow, but that's not the point.
So I wait 2 hours finally it shows up another driver took my truck which was fine so I took his truck so I got to drive one of GFS's new 2016 Volvo's which was pretty nice, shifted like butter and had E-Z-Pass so I took the turnpike today and SerriousXM Satellite Radio oh yeah living large LOL!
Anyhow 10 stops 605 cases I got back by 1:00pm and left work at 1:30pm unfortunately and this was a really really rough one on the way home from work there was a terrible accident on the highway. A State Highway Patrol man was struck and killed by a drunk driver in the middle of the day and that caused a huge traffic back up and it took me very long to get home because of that as you can imagine.
They had a part of I-90 closed for all afternoon they did eventually reopen it, they arrested the driver who hit the highway patrol man, I think the guy who hit the highway patrol man is in big trouble tonight, not good. -
Mike2633 every Monday and Thursday I see one of your chain drivers trucks at the hotel for the night don't know what you guys service down here but made me think of you lol. As for the drumk driver that killed the highway patrolmen this afternoon I hope they throw the book at him.
Mike2633 Thanks this. -
I don't know who the chain people do out in MO. I have a thread going on yesterdays accident they other members have posted information on it:

I see US Foods trucks daily here LOL of course they have a warehouse in Twinsberg,Ohio so there pretty common around these parts. -
Don't you or Mike ever come down to Douglasville/Atlanta to help out, our managers have a long history of screwing over the help lol. Schedule changes galore, not much help, not much info, not much thanks. I warn the drivers as soon as I see a support guy and they never believe me until the week is done. Then they do.Mike2633 Thanks this.
