I've looked everywhere and I can't find a straight forward answer. I'm changing filters also. I have found anything from 12-15 gallons for the capacity.
Does anyone know the capacity of he 2005 ISX 475 ?

IIRC my dad's 2006 ISX he had took around 2 pails and a jug, so about 11 gallons or so. I think the varience you see in capacities is likely due to different oil pan depths in different applications. Best bet if you don't know for sure is to simply just pre-fill your oil filter, then start with 9 or 10 gallons, check the stick, add a little more until its full. Start and run the engine for a minute, shut it down and top it off again after it sits for 10 minutes. Then record how much it took for future reference.

All the ISX15 engines I've services have been 43 - 45 quarts, with the variance typically being that some owners use a shorter oil filter than the OEM one.
Kbhairo Thanks this.
