A good friend of mine recently showed me these. He pulls a covered wagon and hauls coils. He swears by these things. He let me try one out while i was looking at it on his trailer. These things do seem handy and are light and easy to use, but for the stuff i haul i usually use 3/8" or 1/2" chain.

The EZ binders are only rated at 5400 WLL, but could use with 5/16 or 3/8 chain. I was just curious if any of you guys use these.

I saw a driver secure a machine with a set of those going from Texas to Canada. It worked well, and are actually pretty fast, BUT, they're not Canadian legal.

Didnt know if you could go to Canada with those or not. Lol....i might sound a little lazy, but i wish i could find some in 3/8, rated higher. Looks like they only make them in 5/16.

Good for securing the light weight stuff i guess.

I questioned the driver about the 5/16 WLL in canada and he told me that hes never had a problem.

I then told him that an Improper Securement Award suspend the ManCard and all manly privileges and rights, even manly thoughts for 6 months. Thats too high of a price. It's the manly mindset that prevents the Man from ever being someone's beech.

Those would be perfect for concrete pipe to get just the right amount of tension so as to not break the pipe.

snowman_w900 and Pipe 40 Thank this.
  7. Would hate to see them freeze up(ice or mechanica jam). Or worse, spin or jam the handle in an awkward position.

Probably the same reason a split axle isn't legal.

    "Because reasons."

You can take a spread axle into Canada. You just have to abide by the weight laws for it.
