Amazing what these crap companies pull on drivers. Call them and in stern tone tell them you have to get home or else you're parking the truck at nearest truck stop and going home on your own.
Years ago Wal-Mart got into trouble for locking their employees in a store overnight and refusing to let them go home. That was for maybe 16 hours. There was a guy on who posted he was denied hometime for several months after many requests. Trucking is the only industry that can get away with this kind of stuff.

Park the truck, get out, rent a car, and go home. Have another job lines up first.

You just answered your own question.... Let them know you are diabetic and you need to be routed homebound " immediately "
..... If they don't react accordingly they could find themselves in alot of hot water
... They probably don't realize that you have health issues and you need medication -
Shame those who would put up with such abuse , it's one thing for a driver to "be a sport ", it's another thing to be just a used up rag doll, to be tossed out with the trash
... I wish our younger drivers would wisen up and take a stand for themselves and their families
WITHOUT DRIVERS these trucking companies will listen very well indeed & be ready to jump through any hoop we ask of them
.... Trust me !
Oh but let me guess , " that's never going to happen is it" ?Rusty Trawler Thanks this. -
So, when you ask to go home, they say no loads going in that direction, right ? Now you have to decide if you want to be 'walked on" or, be aggressive and even quit on the spot, park the truck or drive it back to HQ and then get yourself home on your own.....and deal with the consequences. I've done it a few times. Once I quit Arrow trucking by leaving a loaded truck trailer at their Fontana yard with a note on the windshield saying I quit !

Talk to the safety dept. It is a safety issue.

This, safety calls usually get resolved fairly quick.mjd4277 Thanks this.

This is a serious matter(I'm a borderline diabetic myself)as regular visits to your doctor and getting the associated medication are CRITICAL to your ability to drive a CMV. The company should be routing you home without delay as FMCSA has tightened the leash on drivers with medical conditions like ours.
-
Im guessing you have a contract with celadon?
At your earliest convenience, when reasonably close to home, and mt,drive home.
They are not going to fire you, even better, bobtail home,to prevent them from dispatching you.
Once they see,you wont take their crap, you will be treated, correctly. -
Tell them you want to lease a truck.
They'll route you straight home and
Have everything lined up for you.
Then hop in your car and take off.
