Buy a pre egr tractor and air brake trailer and leave that socialist state behind
brian991219 Thanks this. -
Have house in that " Socialist State" so that's not the option lol
-
Sell it while it still has value before they decide to take it from you to pay for their stupidity lolbrian991219 Thanks this.

Why buy a pickup that's gonna be slap wore out past 200k. I tell everyone the same thing, get you a shortened single axle class 6 truck. Can pull just as much or more, and beefier components that take otr beating better over the same period
Viceroy1 Thanks this. -
Just because they're easier to sell after and maintenance is cheap. Will sell it before 200k for sure

That will be an awful expensive way to run, selling a dually every 18 months taking a 40% or so hit on value, hell that means it will cost you about a grand a month above your loan payment just in lost value.
As for not having the same b.s. problems as the newer big diesel engines, the smaller ones use exactly the same technology and are in the shop for the same reasons. Plus, you are doing tires, brakes, wheel bearings, etc every 40 or 50k, where a big truck may see wheel bearings and brakes every 500k, tires every 150-300k. Big difference in not only the cost of the maintenance but also the down time doing the maintenance!
Do what you want driver, it is your money, but man most of us have been there, done that, and have the scars to prove it. Our operation was started with a Ford Super Duty 7.3 back in 2000, it did the job but we quickly moved up to class 7 and 8 power units and have not looked back since. And, the 7.3 was a darn good motor, not the junk of today.Viceroy1, Pullin2, Terry270 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Another option, buy a glider and put a "California clean idle" sticker on it. Avoid carb stations.

That looks good if you're a fan of poor fuel mileage, brake and tire life and rapid depreciation
Viceroy1 and KANSAS TRANSIT Thank this.
